Perhaps crop circles will forever be a mystery. Or perhaps not. Whoever's making them, they are an astounding work of art, with precision to the centimeter.
And telegraph.co.uk posted an article on the most complex, "mind-boggling" crop circle ever to be seen in Britain that was discovered in a barley field in Wiltshire.
The circle is a coded representation of pi to the 10th significant figure!

A bit late in the announcement, but Serengeti has another image on the cover of Montreal Families, this time for their June issue.
Little Rosalie's parents were thrilled, and I think Pierre-Olivier and Carolina wiped out all of Maman B้b้ et Caf้'s copies last week to send out to their family!!
Cameras are getting smaller and smaller, and I guess it was only a matter of time before we had the chance to see a video like this!
This video by Jos้ Luis Ortiz (and behind the scenes photographs by Erwan Grey) brings a whole new meaning to helmet cam.
The video is long, but don't miss it! Especially the areas around 5:50 minutes in when the eagle dives! I can't imagine the speeds he's reaching! It's worth a see!
We had a little helper for the Serengeti Lucky Draw today. Benjamin, who just celebrated his 1st birthday, obliged us with his expert assistance in drawing two entries from the jar!
The two entries drawn by Benjamin are:
Anna Wickberg, and Barbara Rolnick!
CONGRATULATIONS!!
You've won a 1-hour photo shoot, that includes a web gallery, AND, six 6" x 9" prints and 4 8" x 10" prints! WOW!
We had a great response to the Lucky Draw, with tons of entries. Thank you everyone who entered! You've all received an email, with a very special offer.
So everyone's a winner!
I've think I've said it before: time flies when you're having fun. Or when you're working hard. And hopefully these come together. Luckily they do in my case!
Serengeti have had a very busy last few months, as those of you who visited the blog may have noticed, with a conspicous lack of posts these past weeks.
There are many many photos to add to the photo gallery, both in the family website here, and in the business portrait section. Slowly I'm catching up on everything, so those images will be up one of these days!
In the interim, here are a few to wet your palate. From a sampling of the many great photo shoots we've had!
Montreal Families' new Spring/Summer directory will soon be out, and Serengeti had the good fortune of a shoot with Lisa and her family to get a photo for the cover.
The directory has a wealth of information and listings for all things family related.
In the following videos, Australian photographer Keith Loutit used a tilt-shift camera lens to take pictures of people and objects and make them appear like miniature figurines. He then assembled the shots to build some amazing looking time-lapse videos.
Taking interactivity and creepy-crawliness to a new level, the Saatchi & Saatchi agency in Jakarta, Indonesia, recently created this massive floor sticker in a Jakarta shopping center.
The original and very effective ad promotes Frontline's Flea & Tick Spray with the slogan Get them off your dog.
Viewed from above, the people walking over the dog look incredibly flea-like, as you can see!

Apologies for posting after the fact, but a mention must be made for Monica Shore, one of Montr้al's upcoming talented jazz singers. Monica recently brought the house down at the Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill. I'll be sure to keep you posted, with more warning, when she next has a show.
ps: Serengeti Studios shot the poster image of Monica ; )
I recently found an article on the blog of Nick Onken, detailing a few good options for those in the market for a new digital SLR.
What camera do I get?
"I'm starting to get asked this question all the time, so I figured I'd throw down a post about it. The first debate is Canon Vs. Nikon, and to tell you the truth at this point in the game it doesn't really matter. They're both great brands and cameras. Nikon has definitely been catching up to Canon and giving them a run for their money..." continue reading here
Not Your Regular Post For A Photography-related Blog!
Yes, this is not a "regular" post, but I have wanted to upload this little video to YouTube, and link to it from here for many moons now! I was inspired by a conversation with my friend Anthony several days ago, so finally!
So what does this photographer, yours truly, get up to in his spare time? Well, if there's enough of it, I head up north with Virginie, and we camp. Plain and simple.
The woods and wild places are where we can all get back to our roots, and re-realize some of the basics of life and living...
Photographer Simon Hoegsberg took the idea and presented it here in an original way. Images shot over a period of 20 days are combined together to create an image 100 meters long! Simon's project is called "We're all gonna die - 100 meters of existence" and it's worth it to take a look!
These large posters were recently seen in Berlin, covered over with mock-ups of Photoshop toolbars. What an effective way to remind us that most, if not all of the images we see these days are retouched and cleaned up.
